みなさんこんばんは。三味線亀ちゃんです。
今回は本土の三味線と沖縄三味線を比べるというコラムを書こうと思っています。
元々当店は本土の三味線が専門ですので沖縄三味線の方は間違ったことをもし
書いたらすみません。
さて三味線の全形を比べてみますと
第一印象よく似てますよね。
本土の三味線は長唄の細棹三味線です。
中国本土から沖縄を経由して織田信長(16世紀後半)の時代に日本に三味線が伝わったというのが有力な説です。
戦国時代は三味線は最新の弦楽器だったんですね。
沖縄三味線は短いですので立って弾いたりしますね。
本土の三味線は正座が基本です。
棹は沖縄三味線の方が細いですね。立っても弾くので軽くしたいですよね。
胴はいま画像を見て思ったのですが胴の大きさは思ったより変わらないですね。
もっと小さいかなと思ってました。
胴が大きいと音のボリュームが出ますのでやはり胴は大きくしたいという気持ちは分かります。
糸巻きですが本土の三味線は象牙や黒檀、沖縄三味線は黒檀を使うのですが装飾に
珊瑚や象牙を使ったりします。
この沖縄三味線の場合白い所が象牙を使ったり珊瑚を使います。
南国ですね珊瑚のカラクイ(糸巻きの事)の装飾を見ると良い感じがします。(^^)
さて本土の三味線と沖縄三味線の最大の違いと私が思うのは「さわり」が有るか無いかです。
このさわりが本土の三味線を本土の民族楽器に脱皮させたと思います。
さわりはどこから来たのでしょうか？
私が思うには琵琶の存在が大きいと思います。
琵琶の音はさわりがすごく付いてますよね。
この音がやはり本土の人たちは好きだったのでしょうね。
沖縄と本土(日本)は昔は国が違いましたから民族性の違いなのかもしれません。
この琵琶の音はどこから来たのでしょう？
私はインドのシタールを連想してしまうのですが・・・・
琵琶は古い楽器ですからシルクロードを通って来たのかもしれませんね。
こう考えると古典楽器の三味線も世界性を帯びるのかもしれません。
次回も本土の三味線と沖縄三味線を比べてみたいと思います。

Now, let’s compare all the forms of the shamisen.
First impressions are very similar, don’t you think?
The mainland shamisen is a Nagauta shamisen.
The most popular theory is that the shamisen was introduced to Japan from mainland China via Okinawa during the reign of Nobunaga Oda (late 16th century).
So the shamisen was the newest stringed instrument during the Warring States period.
The Okinawa shamisen is short and is played standing up.
Mainland shamisen players sit on their haunches.
The neck of the Okinawa shamisen is thinner. The neck is thinner than that of the Okinawa shamisen, but it should be lighter because it is played standing up.
The size of the body is the same as I expected.
I thought it would be smaller.
The larger the body, the louder the sound, so I can understand why you would want a larger body.
As for the pegs, mainland shamisen are made of ivory or ebony, and Okinawan shamisen are made of ebony.
The Okinawa shamisen is made of ebony, but coral and ivory are used for decoration.
In the case of this Okinawa shamisen, the white part is made of ivory or coral.
The decoration of the coral karakui (pegs) gives a good impression of a tropical country. (^^)
The biggest difference between the mainland shamisen and the Okinawan shamisen, in my opinion, is the presence or absence of a “Sawari”.
I think that this “Sawari” is what made the shamisen from the mainland to become an ethnic instrument of the mainland.
Where did the “Sawari” come from?
I think the presence of the Biwa is significant.
The sound of the Biwa has a very rustic quality to it.
People in mainland Japan must have liked this sound.
Okinawa and the mainland (Japan) used to be different countries, so it may be a difference in ethnicity.
Where did this Biwa sound come from?
I associate it with the Indian Sitar. ・・・・
The Biwa is an old instrument, so it may have come through the Silk Road.
In this way, the shamisen, a classical instrument, may also have a global character.
I would like to compare mainland and Okinawan shamisen again next time.

こちらの撥はだいぶ色が着いちゃってますね。
撥の手元(握る部分)から撥先の矢印のところまではある程度跡は残りますが綺麗になります。
これは撥を持つ指の部分が色が変わってしまっていますね。
